Put some olive oil or butter in a saucepan or deeper frying pan and fry some cornmeal until it becomes golden. Allow to cool.

Meanwhile, dissolve treacle with water in another pan to get sweet syrup. Once it boils, add the already fried cornmeal a bit by bit when stirring continuously. The ratio of flour - syrup is 1: 2.

The resulting halva is placed in baking dish and is sprinkled with cornmeal. Cut into shapes you prefer.
