"Garbage for Plums"

Results from the casting for choice of talents to participate in the theater play "Garbage for Plums" during the Bulgarian Festival of the Plum 2013

On 03.05.2013 in the National Cultural Center "Nauka 1870" in Troyan, began casting for the selection of participants in the theatrical play "Garbage for Plums," which will be part of a colorful program of the spring edition of the Bulgarian Plum Festival in 2013 Troyan.

"Garbage for Plums" is a humorous theatrical with director - Stoyan Georgiev and screenwriter - Hristo Botev. In order to select local talents a competition was organized in which the locals of Troyan Municipality had the opportunity to participate. The contest was designed to provide an opportunity for interested youth and adults to express their theatrical abilities to the public during the festival. For the purposes of the play "Garbage for Plums" there needed to be made a selection of 14 participants who would be given the script, trained in drama and fully prepared for their appearance before the festival audience.

Among the 20 attending candidates a competent jury with members: Stoyan Georgiev – director, Hristo Botev - playwright and Vihra Petrova - actor in amateur theater, selected 14 participants who will fill the seats for the necessary roles in the play. Th show will also involve more children from Dance Formation “Trayana” at the National Cultural Center "Nauka 1870" and vocal studio "Usmivka". Here are the names of the actors who will be able to see in "Garbage for Plums" during the Bulgarian Plum Festival 2013:

COMPETITION FOR BEST HOME MADE PLUM BRANDY “TROYAN MASTER”


The National competition for Best home made plum brandy “Troyan Master” related to the Bulgarian Plum Festival in city of Troyan is being organized by Municipality of Troyan with the financial support of Operational Program “Regional Development” 2007 – 2013, co-funded by European Union through European fund for regional development and the state budget of Republic of Bulgaria.

I. REGULATIONS


The purpose of the competition is to point out best home made plum brandy presented during the Bulgarian Plum Festival in Troyan, innovative event with 20 years of history.


  1. Allowed to participate in the competition are all local masters, who register themselves at the Information Center near the building of the Municipality during the Festival from 22nd – 27th of April 2013, where they will receive an empty sample bottle and a number label for participation in the competition.
  2. Deadline for registration is until: 1:00 pm on the 27th of April 2013
  3. Number of samples: each master has the right to submit no more than 3 types of plum brandy made from plums at home conditions.
  4. The competition is being popularized through internet and print materials – posters, leaflets and brochures.   5. Criteria of evaluation:
    • Taste qualities of the presented plum brandy.
  6. Technical requirements:
    • The plum brandy must be prepared with Troyan plums;
    • The plum brandy must be home made;
    • Quantity of plum brandy for tasting and evaluation should be at least 1 liter;
    • Participants who have changed the label on the sample bottle or marked in any other way their bottle will be eliminated from the participation.
  7. Samples must be submitted to the following address: Municipality Troyan – 1 “Vazrazhdane” sq. – at the tasting booth that will be marked and located near the stage.
  8. Deadline for submitting the sample bottles for the competition is until 1:00 pm on the 27th of April 2013

TIMETABLE FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMPETITION

  1. 1. Those willing to take part have to make a registration at the Festival Information desk which is opposite the building of Municipality Troyan from 22nd until 1pm on 27th of April and get a sample bottle with numbered label for participation in the competition.
  2. All samples for tasting should be submitted in special numbered and registered bottles.
  3. Participants in the competition submit their samples for tasting until 1:00 pm on the 27th of April 2013 at a spot pointed out by the organizers, where the tasting will take place on the same day at 2:30 pm.
  4. A jury of external members will taste and evaluate the samples of home made plum brandy and will take a decision for awarding a winner.
  5. The winner in the competition will be awarded with title “Troyan master 2013”
