With the end of the latest edition of the plum festival, it is time to draw up a balance-sheet. What are the actual results from the festival and what are the perspectives of the further development of the celebration?
We can happily say that the twenty-second edition of the festival attracted a record number of craftsmen, guests and artists. More than 8000 people visited the festival which doubtlessly asserted it as the most important event in the cultural poster of the municipality. On the 19th of September the traditional holiday defile of the community centers was held which this year was joined by official guests from Bela Palanka, Serbia and representatives of the regional and municipal authorities. During the procession, which was led by the Representative municipal youth brass-band with cheerleaders, the mayor of Troyan Municipality Mrs. Donka Mihaylova awarded the shops, winners of the contest “Holiday themed decoration”. Competent jury with a president Mrs. Nina Donkovska, a famous Troyan artist and teacher in the National high school for applied art “Prof. Venko Kolev”, distinguished the decoration of Maya Yovkova from the shop “Mayan – 62”, whose conception devoted to the plum holiday, was remarkable for its attractiveness and completeness.
